Mavs Host NCC Tourney Friday, Saturday

OMAHA, Neb.-- As the number one seed the University of Nebraska-Omaha will host the NCC tournament at the soccer field at Ak-Sar-Ben beginning Friday with first game starting at 11:30. Minnesota State, North Dakota, South Dakota and UNO will battle for the conference crown.

Game 1--#4 Minnesota State vs. #1 Nebraska-Omaha, 11:30p
Game 2--#3 North Dakota vs. #2 South Dakota, 2 p.m.
Saturday, Nov. 5
Championship--Semifinal winners, 1 p.m.

After three-straight NCC crowns, UNO lost to North Dakota 2-1 in overtime last year in the first round in the conference tournament. The Mavericks look to regain their conference title, this time with a home advantage.
The Mavericks will be without 2002 All-American goalkeper Amy Price who underwent surjury Monday to fix a broken nose. Price posted a 0.86 goals against average, and has made 52 saves. Replacing Price will be freshman Ellen Petersen. In just over 261 minutes Petersen has allowed three goals and as made two stops. The start for Petersen will be the second of the year.
Mavs Move to #19
After defeating Division-I South Dakota State UNO moved into the No. 19 spot in the NSCAA/adidas national ranking. Four teams the Mavs have played this year are ranked. Metro State and Truman State, are No. 2 and No.3 respectively; rankings they have held majority of the season. Regis, a team the Mavs defeated early in the season, holds the No. 11 spot. Southwest Baptist is listed at the No. 12 position, moving from 13 last week.
Klosterman Reaches 100 Win Plateau
Through six seasons as UNO's Head Coach, Don Klosterman reached 100 wins Sunday in the Mavericks 2-0 victory over South Dakota State University. Overall, Klosterman is 100-23-3 and has averaged moe than 16 wins per season, taking his team to two-straight Final Four's, finishing second and third nationally.
Mavs Land Eight on All-NCC Lists
The University of Nebraska-Omaha was well represented on the 2004-05 All-North Central Conference Soccer Team released Tuesday. Seniors Brytten Kraft, Anne Willrett, junior Meghan Pile, and freshman Beth McGill highlighted the first-team list. Juniors Amy Price, Becca Fritz, sophomore Amber Richardson and freshman Brandie Beale rounded out the second team with Beale named freshman of the year, leading the league in goals(7) and points(18).
