Showdown at Sapp Looms for Mavs, Jacks

It'll be the Showdown at Sapp Fieldhouse for the Mavericks and No. 3 ranked South Dakota State Friday night. The North Central Conference title is on the line as the teams square off at 8 p.m. SDSU (25-3, 9-3) leads UNO (18-7, 8-4) by a game in the standings.
UNO, with a win over SDSU in January, needs to win Friday against the Jackrabbits and Saturday at home against Augustana in order to capture its third NCC title and its first since 1984. SDSU needs a win over UNO to clinch the title.
The Mavericks have moved up three spots to No. 5 in the latest North Central Region poll released late Wednesday.
