Mavs Top Sioux Falls for Seventh Straight Win

The Mavs topped Sioux Falls 8-1 Sunday afternoon at Hanscom Park Tennis Center, setting a school record with their seventh straight win. UNO started with a sweep in doubles play and then took five of six singles matches to improve to 8-2, just two wins away from a school season record.
Mavericks Pam Le and Maggie Russell won 9-8 (7-2) at No. 1 over Cougars Megan McCarty and Angie Norberg. Le/Russell improved to a perfect 4-0 at the top doubles spot. At No. 2 Lindsay Henjum and Sarah Huls topped USF's Jayme Grebin and Dani Grebin and Sara Batchelor and Abby Wilson won at No. 3 over Mindy Cunningham and Brandy Eisma.
In singles Batchelor took the top spot and played USF's McCarty to a hard-fought 7-6, 6-4 win and improved to 6-3. Huls picked up her third win with a victory over Norberg at the No. 2 spot. Mikaila Spalding won at No. 4 over Jayme Grebin. Wilson topped Cunningham at No. 5 and Anna Ristic defeated Chantelle Prins to pick up her sixth win. The Cougars picked up their only point when Dani Grebin won at No. 3 over UNO's Shannon Dinovo.
The Mavericks will travel to Nebraska-Kearney Friday to rematch an earlier dual at 10 a.m. and then will face Emporia State that evening at 7. Sunday UNO will return to Hanscom to host Minnesota-Duluth with an 11 a.m. dual.
