Third Period Comeback Lifts Mavs To 3-3 Tie

The UNO hockey team battled back from a 3-1 deficit in the third period and skated to a 3-3 tie with Bowling Green at Qwest Center Omaha Friday night.
Bowling Green took a 1-0 lead with 1:15 remaining in the second period on Mike Falk's first of two goals on the night.
UNO's Josh Weeks evened the score at 1-1 at 6:55 of the third period. Weeks' goal started a flurry of five goals in a two and a half minute span.
BGSU's Brian Escobedo and Mike Falk gave the Falcons a 3-1 lead just 1:08 after Weeks' goal.
The Mavericks' Ryan Bennett and Kaleb Betts then knotted the score at 3-3 1:27 after the Falcons took a two-goal lead.
Bennett's tally was his first of the year while Betts' power play goal was a beautiful one timer from the right circle on a pass from Scott Parse.
The Mavericks outshot Bowling Green 34-31 in the contest and killed off all four Falcon power plays.
Tomorrow night's game between UNO and Bowling Green will begin at 8:05 p.m.
