Mavs Blanked 7-0 by CU

The Mavs were shut out 7-0 by Creighton Saturday afternoon in a dual at Hanscom Park Tennis Center and fell to 1-1 on the year. Creighton, also 1-1, won all six singles matches and all three doubles to take the one doubles point and defeat the Mavs for the second year in a row.
No. 3 singles player Lindsay Henjum and No. 6 Abby Wilson each forced their matches into tie breakers. Henjum took her first set 7-5 but CU's Kim Caven won the second set 6-4 and the tie breaker 10-6. Wilson battled back to take the second set 7-5 after Shannon Whelan defeated her 6-4 in the opening set. In the tie breaker Whelan fell behind early in the first-to-ten format but came back to win 10-8.
The Mavs will dual their second of three Division I opponents Sunday when they host Wichita State at 11 a.m.
