Mavericks Host First Home Matches of Season

OMAHA, Neb.-- No. 16 UNO will host No. 8 Truman State Saturday Sept. 11 at 2 p.m. and Central Missouri State Sunday Sept 12 at 2 p.m at Ak-Sar-Ben Field. Last Saturday the Mavericks downed Division I Drury 3-0.
A Little History
The Mavericks boast a 6-1 record versus Truman State, including 2-0 and 3-0 victories last season; while they have defeated Central Missouri each of the five times they have met including a 10-0 rout in 2003. This weekend UNO looks to extend its 26-game home unbeaten streak.
About the Bulldogs
Truman State enters this weekend's matchup as the No. 8 team in the nation. The Bulldogs carry a 2-0-1 record and are coming off a 0-0 tie Monday versus Missouri Southern. Truman State is led by senior forward Sara Murray who has scored a team-best four goals, also adding an assist. Goalkeeper Lauren Davis has only allowed one goal, recording 10 saves.
About the Jennies
Central Missouri State wrapped up last weekend going 1-1. In its final game of the weekend CMSU defeated No. 25 Central Oklahoma 2-0 as freshman goalkeeper Andrea Dixon recorded her first career shutout making six saves. The Jennies posted two goals on five shots as freshman Erin Hendrix and junior Josie Vanwey netted goals.The win over Central Oklahoma was the first over a ranked, non-conference opponent in CMSU soccer history.

Last weekend the Mavericks defeated Division I Drury 3-0. With the win over the Panthers the Mavs run their record to 2-1-0. In the contest versus Drury Beth McGill began the scoring in the 15th minute of the game on an assist from freshman Brandie Beale. Unassisted goals by Amber Richardson and Christen Boeckel sealed the victory for UNO. Goalkeepers Amy Price ad Ellen Petersen combined for the shutout. The victory over Drury gives UNO a four-game winning streak versus Division I opponents.
