
Ritter Leads UNO To Third Win at Crossover

Aberdeen, S.D. - Junior middle blocker Briana Ritter pounded 14 kills while recording a career-high five service aces and six blocks to lead the University of Nebraska at Omaha volleyball team to a 3-1 (30-18, 22-30, 30-13, 30-24) victory over Bemidji State for their third-straight win at the North Central Region Crossover on Saturday afternoon on the Northern State University campus. The Mavericks, who improved to 8-3 on the season, finished the tournament undefeated.
Senior outside hitter Amy McLeay also registered 14 kills and added nine digs and two blocks. Junior setter Christie Johnson dished out 45 set assists, while leading the Maverick defensive charge with a career-high 17 digs.
Nebraska-Omaha outblocked the Beavers 18 to 11 in the match while holding a .240 to .110 advantage in hitting percentage.
Senior outside hitter Jenny Rankin was the third Maverick with double-figure kills as she tallied 11 kills, two digs, and two blocks.
The Mavericks will be idle until Tuesday, Sept. 21, when they travel to Wayne State for a 7 p.m. match with the Wildcats.
