Mavericks Down Jennies 4-1

Omaha, Neb.---On a warm and breezy Sunday afternoon, UNO connected on four goals to outlast the Jennies of Central Missouri State 4-1.
UNO scoring began in the 6th minute of play with Brandie Beale connecting on a pass from Molly Herzberg. Less than seven minutes later freshman defender Dani McCawley added a goal on a pass from Amber Richardson. The Jennies cut the Maverick lead to one in the 20th minute as Josie Vanwey scored on a long shot from the sideline. Late goals by Ali Portell and Anne Willrett sealed the victory for the 3-2-0 Mavericks. Goalkeeper Amy Price collected 2 saves in 80 minutes of play.
Next up for the Mavericks will be next Saturday Sept. 18 versus Southwest Baptist, slated for 1 p.m.
