Minnesota State Squeaks By South Dakota with Late

OMAHA, Neb. - Minnesota State's Amber Cambridge scored twice Friday, including the game-winner with three minutes left to play, to give the Mavericks a 2-1 win over South Dakota in the first round of the NCAA Central Region Tournament Friday afternoon at the Soccer Field at Ak-Sar-Ben. South Dakota (14-6-1) got on the board first when Ashley Ervin knocked one in on an assist from Tina Brummer at 50:33. Cambridge then got an unassisted goal 10 minutes later to tie the game and then scored one on a pass from Lauren Peterson in the 88th minute. The MSU Mavericks (11-8-1) out shot USD 12-6 and goalkeeper Jennie Dehamer made four saves in earning the win.

MSU and UNO will now meet Sunday at noon for the third time this year and second time in a regional final. The winner of the that game will host the winner of the Great Lakes Region in the quarterfinal next weekend.
