Mavs to Face Huskers in Exhibition Monday

The Mavericks will play their only exhibition game of the 2005-06 season Monday night when they travel to Lincoln to meet Nebraska at 7:05 p.m. in the Devaney Center.

The Mavericks will open regular season play with three games in the Disney Tip-Off Classic in Orlando, Fla., beginning Friday. UNO will play Presbyterian in a first-round game at 7:30 p.m. CST. The outcome will determine game time and opponents for games on Nov. 12-13.
The Record & Rankings
The Mavericks finished the season 23-6 after a first-round loss in the NCAA II tournament. UNO won the North Central Conference regular season title with a 9-3 mark and was ranked No. 7 in the final NABC poll of the season.
Radio
A total of 20 Maverick games will be broadcast on KOZN, 1620 AM with David Gustafson calling the action. The Nebraska game and the Disney Tip-Off Classic games will not be broadcast.
The Coach
Derrin Hansen is in his first season as a collegiate head coach. The seven-year Maverick assistant took over the program in June. He is a 1991 graduate of Nebraska Wesleyan University. He served as the head basketball and track coach at Elmwood-Murdock, Neb., High School for two years and was a graduate assistant at Nebraska-Kearney while earning his master's degree in 1995.
UNO in the NCC
The Mavericks have won two straight North Central Conference regular season titles. UNO's other titles came in 1979 and 1984.
