Maverick Tennis Earns Regional Bid

The Maverick tennis team will head for first round action of the 2005 NCAA Division II Team Tennis Championship scheduled for May 5-7 on the campus of Washburn University in Topeka, Kan.
The Mavericks (14-5 overall) earned an automatic qualification for championship by winning the North Central Conference title last weekend.
The Mavericks will begin regional play against Colorado State-Pueblo next Friday. A victory would send UNO against the winner of the Washburn-North Dakota match
The Thunderwolves (12-7 overall) captured the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference championship last Saturday with a 5-4 victory over Mesa State College.
The top eight teams from the North Central Region made the championship bracket, the other six teams are Emporia State, Washburn, Northwest Missouri State, St. Cloud State, Mesa State and North Dakota.
The Mavericks-Thunderwolves match will begin on Friday morning, May 6th at 9 a.m, with the North Dakota-Washburn match getting underway at 1 p.m.
The winners of each match will face off in the championship match scheduled for Saturday morning May 7th at 9 a.m.
