North Central Crossover Up Next For Mavs

The University of Nebraska at Omaha Mavericks (4-4) will travel to Aberdeen, S.D. this Friday-Saturday, Sept. 9-10, when they participate in the North Central Region Crossover on the campus of Northern State University.
All seven teams from the North Central Conference and all eight teams from the Northern Sun Conference will participate in the tournament. Future Northern Sun member Upper Iowa will also take part in the Crossover.
The Mavericks will face Bemidji State (0-8) at 11 a.m. Friday followed by a 4 p.m. match against sixth-ranked Concordia-St. Paul (6-2). Nebraska-Omaha will finish up the tournament on Saturday with a 12 p.m. showdown with Minnesota-Crookston (3-4).
The Record
The Mavericks are currently 4-4 on the season after going 1-3 last weekend at the Colorado Premier Challenge in Denver. The Mavericks' lone victory in the tournament was a three-game sweep of Regis. UNO dropped three-game decisions to ninth-ranked Tampa and West Texas A&M, while falling in five games to Findlay.
The Rankings
In the CSTV/AVCA Division II Coaches Top 25 poll released on Aug. 8, Nebraska-Omaha was not ranked. However, the Mavericks did receive 29 points in the poll. The first official poll of the 2005 season will be released on Tuesday, Sept. 5.

With her 30th dig against Southern Illinois-Edwardsville on Aug. 27, senior libero Chelsea Miller became the 19th player in school history to record 1,000 career digs. Miller has now recorded 1,064 digs in her UNO career which ranks 16th on the Maverick all-time career records' chart.
