McGill Scores 2 in Maverick Win

GRAND FORKS, N.D. -- Senior Beth McGill scored a pair of first half goals, sending No. 1 ranked UNO to a 5-0 non-conference win over the University of Mary Saturday. The Mavericks improved to 16-0-1 overall in closing out their regular season road schedule.
UNO will return home next weekend to host Minnesota Duluth and Minnesota State in North Central Conference matches Friday and Sunday.
McGill took a pass from Amanda Iwansky to open scoring and then scored her 16th goal of the season on a direct kick. Amber Richardson gave UNO a 3-0 halftime lead with an unassisted goal.
Whitney Hill and Brandie Beale, on assists from Casey Bigsby and Iwansky, capped the scoring in the second half.
Mary fell to 6-9-3 on the season in the first meeting ever between the two schools.
