Christensen Leads UNO Over Sioux

OMAHA, Neb. -- Junior Carlie Christensen pounded 18 kills on .484 hitting while adding a career-high 13 blocks as the 20th-ranked UNO Mavericks defeated North Dakota 3-1 (28-30, 30-28, 30-23, 30-22) Saturday night in North Central Conference action at the Sapp Fieldhouse.
With the win, UNO improved to 17-6 overall and 5-4 in the NCC. The Sioux fell to 13-9 and 5-4.
The 13 blocks by Christensen ranks second in school history and marked her second double-double of the season. As a team, UNO tallied a season high 18.5 blocks, compared to nine for North Dakota.
Senior outside hitter Christina Reicks notched her 10th-straight double-double and her 17th on the year, collecting 13 kills and 26 digs while adding a career-high eight blocks.
Senior Stacie Wemhoff led UNO defensively with 34 digs, which ties for the eighth-highest single-match total in school history.
Freshman Sara Kampschnieder recorded a career-high 13 kills and two blocks in the victory.
Junior setter Katie Agnew directed the UNO offense, dishing out 51 assists, while registering nine digs and five kills and guiding the Mavericks to a .199 team attack percentage.
The Mavericks will host Upper Iowa in a non-conference match on Tuesday, Oct. 24 beginning at 7 p.m. at the Sapp Fieldhouse.
