OMAHA, Neb. -- Four different Mavericks scored goals Friday, leading No. 1 ranked UNO to a 4-0 North Central Conference soccer win over Minnesota Duluth at Ak-Sar-Ben Field. UNO will close the regular season with a Sunday match at home against Minnesota State at 1 p.m.
Amber Richardson and Casey Bigsby each had a goal and an assist and Beth McGill had two assists to lead the Mavericks, who recorded their 14th shutout of the season. UNO is now 17-0-1 overall and 10-0-1 in the NCC. UMD fell to 8-7-3 and 4-5-2.
Richardson dribbled around Bulldog goalkeeper Briana Francisco after a pass from Bigsby to open scoring at 6:25. Ali Portell gave UNO a 2-0 lead after passes from Brandie Beale and McGill found her alone in the box at 31:58.
Bigsby scored off a corner kick at 69:58. Richardson's kick went inside to Dani McCawley, who passed to Bigsby. Amanda Iwansky capped the scoring at 74:07 after McGill's pass gave her room to get past the goalkeeper and score from the right side.
