2nd Half Blitz Boosts Mavs, 6-0

OMAHA, Neb. -- Brandie Beale scored twice in 68 seconds to lead a five-goal second-half barrage by the Mavericks Friday in a 6-0 North Central Conference win over Augustana at Ak-Sar-Ben Field. The victory was the 12th straight for No. 1 ranked UNO.
Beth McGill's 12th goal of the year and 48th of her career gave UNO a 1-0 lead in the first half. McGill bent a penalty kick around four Augustana defenders and into the top left corner of the goal at 31:05.
UNO, now 12-0 overall and 6-0 in the NCC, broke the match open with three goals in less than 10 minutes in the second half. Casey Bigsby's header off a pass from Jessica Powers made it 2-0 at 49:40.
Beale scored her fifth of the year after passes from Amber Richardson and Amanda Iwansky got her free 10 yards in front of the goal at 57:07. She followed that up at 58:15 off a pass from Bigsby, hitting the left corner.
Iwansky scored her sixth of the year at 68:40 and Tricia Braziel her first at 82:20 from out of a scramble in front of the net.
Augustana, which fell to 2-9-1 overall and 0-6-1 in the NCC, was held to just three shots on goal. Viking goalkeeper Lisa Jarovski made six saves.
The Mavericks are next in action Sunday afternoon in an NCC match at South Dakota at 1.
