Mavs Host Peru State Tuesday Night

After splitting a pair of games over the weekend at the Homewood Suites Thanksgiving Classic, the UNO men's basketball team will host Peru State Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Sapp Fieldhouse.
UNO shot the lights out Friday night, soundly defeating Chadron State, 93-67. Senior guard Zac Robinson led the Mavericks with 24 points. Saturday night the Mavericks' hot shooting faded down the stretch as Quincy eked out a 62-58 victory. Center Jerry Bennett had a season-best 16 points to lead UNO, adding six rebounds.
The Mavericks have won 20 of 33 past meetings with the Bobcats, most recently a 75-48 win last season.
The Bobcats are 2-6 on the season, but are coming off a 92-86 victory in the last contest, against College of St. Scholastica. Peru State dropped 63 percent of its shots, going 31-for-49, also hitting 70 percent from the foul line (23-for-33). Brandon Barrett and Joe Mews scored 16 points each.
Barrett leads the team in scoring on the season, averaging 14.1 points per game.
