Trio of Mavs Named to All-Region Team

Three Mavericks - seniors Beth McGill and Amber Richardson and junior Dani McCawley - have been named to the NSCAA/adidas All-Region team announced this week.
In addtion, the NCC champion Mavericks had one player each named to the second and third all-region teams. Sophomore forward Amanda Iwansky, Columbus, Neb., was named to the second team and freshman defender Tara Wegehaupt, Duluth, Minn., to the third team.
McGill, UNO's all-time leading scorer, has been a third-team All-American the past two years. The Omaha native was the North Central Conference's most valuable player for a second straight season.
Richardson, from LaVista, Neb., was a two-time all-NCC pick and is making her second straight appearance on the all-region team.
McCawley, from Ralston, Neb., was an all-NCC pick and is on her first all-region team.
