Mavs to Host Bowling Green in CCHA First Round
Feb 28, 2006 | Hockey
Nebraska-Omaha will entertain Bowling Green in the first round of the CCHA Playoffs this weekend. The best-of-three series will be held at the Qwest Center, starting Friday. All games are scheduled for 7:05 p.m. UNO (18-12-6, 12-10-6 CCHA) is unbeaten in 10 of its last 11 games while BGSU (13-21-2, 8-18-2) will be looking to snap a six-game winless streak.
UNO will need to defeat the same two teams it did seven years ago in order to make its fourth trip to Detroit for the CCHA Championship. If the Mavs defeat Bowling Green in the first round of the CCHA Playoffs, Nebraska-Omaha would then travel to Marquette to face Northern Michigan in the second round. In the 2000 CCHA Playoffs, UNO defeated NMU at the Berry Events Center in a best-of-three playoff series and went on to defeat Bowling Green in a play-in game for the final spot at the "Joe".
