2 for the Road for Mavericks

The Mavericks face a pair of road games this week against the top two teams in the North Central Conference, first meeting St. Cloud State on Thursday night at 8, then playing at Minnesota State in Mankato Saturday afternoon at 4. Both games will be broadcast on KOZN, 1620 AM.
The Records
The Mavs suffered their third straight loss Saturday night to fall to 13-12 overall and 2-5 in the North Central Conference. St. Cloud State is the NCC leader at 15-7 and 6-2 and Minnesota State is second at 17-5 and 5-2.
The Series
St. Cloud State holds a 30-22 lead in the all-time series with UNO, including an overtime win in Omaha on Jan. 26. Minnesota State leads that series, 34-22.
Last Week
The Mavericks couldn't recover from a 26-point deficit at South Dakota Thursday, despite pulling within three late in the game, and the Coyotes avenged an earlier loss to UNO with an 85-76 decision. Zac Robinson's 21 points led UNO. Saturday night, the Mavericks came from behind to claim a second half lead, but Augustana outscored the Mavs down the stretch 11-2 for a 77-72 win at Sapp Fieldhouse.

Up Next
The Mavericks will have just one game next week, playing at Minnesota Duluth at 3 p.m. The same teams will square off Feb. 23 in Omaha.
The Coach
Derrin Hansen is in his first season as a collegiate head coach. The seven-year Maverick assistant took over the program in June. He is a 1991 graduate of Nebraska Wesleyan University. He served as the head basketball and track coach at Elmwood-Murdock, Neb., High School for two years and was a graduate assistant at Nebraska-Kearney while earning his master's degree in 1995. Kenya Crandell is the associate head coach and Mitch Mosser the assistant coach.
