UNO to Host Tennis Regional May 5-6

North Central Conference champion UNO has been chosen to host an NCAA Division II tennis regional next Friday and Saturday, May 5-6, at the Koch Tennis Center at Tranquility Park. The Mavs, the No. 2 seed in the North Central region, will meet No. 7 seeded Colorado State-Pueblo in the first match at 10 a.m. Friday.
No. 3 seed Missouri Southern will oppose No. 6 seeded North Dakota at 1 p.m. The winners of the Friday matches will meet at 10 a.m. on Saturday for the right to advance to the round of 16 on May 10 in Kansas City, Mo.
This is UNO's fourth straight trip to the national tournament under head coach Bill Nichols, but it will be the first time the Mavericks have hosted a regional meet. The Mavericks advanced to the round of 16 last year. UNO is 10-7 in dual matches overall this year.
