
Bigsby's Goal Gives UNO 1-0 Win Over USD

OMAHA, Neb. Sophomore midfielder Casey Bigsby scored off a pass from senior forward Beth McGill at the 52:28 mark for the game's only goal as the top-ranked UNO Maverick soccer team edged South Dakota, 1-0, in North Central Conference action Friday afternoon at Ak-Sar-Ben Field.
With the win, UNO improves to 8-0 on the season and 3-0 in the NCC. South Dakota falls to 5-3-1 and 2-1.
Bigsby scored her second goal of the season and McGill added to her school-record career point total which now stands at 114.
UNO outshot the Coyotes 25 to 6 in the game. The Mavericks had 11 shots on goal, compared to just one for USD.
The Coyote's Elizabeth Odorisio recorded 10 saves in the loss.
The Mavericks, who have now won 15-straight games, return to NCC action on Sunday, Sept. 24, when they entertain North Dakota beginning at 1 p.m. at Ak-Sar-Ben Field.
