
2 Road Tests Next for Mavericks

The Mavericks will test their four-match winning streak on the road with a pair of North Central Conference games this weekend. UNO will play at South Dakota Friday at 4 p.m. and conclude the trip at North Dakota with a 1 p.m. match Sunday.
UNO, 8-5-0 on the year and 6-2 in the NCC, has moved up to No. 4 in the NCAA Division II Central Region rankings. South Dakota carries records of 7-7-2 and 4-5-0 into the match Friday. The Mavericks hold a 2-0 decision over the Coyotes in the first meeting of the teams in Omaha on Oct. 7. That match started UNO's current four-win streak.
North Dakota, a 5-2 victim of the Mavericks on Sept. 21 in Omaha, is 5-8-2 overall and 0-6-2 in the NCC.
Casey Bigsby heads a balanced scoring attack for the Mavericks with six goals and three assists for 15 points, two ahead of Dani McCawley at 5-3--13. Brandie Beale, Mykala Hanson and MaryClaire Murnana have four goals apiece and Amanda Iwansky three.
UNO, which began the season with three losses in its first four starts, now has won six of the past seven.
The Mavericks return home after this weekend to close out the regular season with matches against Minnesota Duluth on Oct. 28 and Augustana on Nov. 2.
