Bigsby, Hanson Goals Boost Mavs Past USD

VERMILLION, S.D. -- Mykala Hanson's goal with less than eight minutes left lifted UNO to its fifth straight win Friday, a 2-1 North Central Conference decision over South Dakota. The Mavericks are now 9-5 overall and 7-2 in the league before playing at North Dakota Sunday.
South Dakota (7-8-2, 4-6) took a quick lead on Katie Freeman's goal just 3:38 into the contest.
The Mavericks' leading scorer, Casey Bigsby, forged a 1-all tie with her seventh goal of the season at 43:46.
Hanson converted a pass from Kellyn Kramolisch to beat goalkeeper Ann Opsahl at the 82:49 mark for the game-winner.
