Bigsby, Petersen Earn NCC Honors

Casey Bigsby has been named the North Central Conference's offensive player of the week and Ellen Petersen the defensive player of the week after their performances for the Mavericks last weekend.
Bigsby, a junior forward from Omaha, scored both game-winning goals in UNO's 2-0 wins over Metro State and South Dakota. She registered five shots on goal in the two victories.
Petersen, a senior from Omaha, made five total saves in recording the two shutouts against defending national champion Metro State and the Coyotes.
UNO, now 6-5 on the season and second in the NCC with a 4-2 mark, will play the first of four straight road games Saturday afternoon at Augustana at 1. The Mavs follow that match with a 1 p.m. game at St. Cloud State on Sunday.
