Christensen Named 2nd Team AVCA All-American

LEXINGTON, Ky. -- Senior Carlie Christensen, a 6-0 middle blocker from Omaha, was named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association Division II All-American second team today. Christensen earned third team honors last season and honorable mention accolades in 2005.
Christensen, who is a three-time all-North Central Conference and AVCA all-Region selection, led the 2007 Mavericks with 3.76 kills, 1.45 blocks, and 4.55 points per game. She also led UNO with a .344 hitting percentage. In the final conference-only statistics, Christensen ranked first in blocks (1.44 bpg), third in hitting percentage (.368), third in points (4.77 ppg), and seventh in kills (3.98 kpg).
A three-time NCC Offensive Player of the Week selection this season, Christensen led the Mavericks to their fourth-consecutive NCAA II Tournament where the Mavericks advanced to the second round before losing to top-ranked Minnesota Duluth.
