McCawley is NCC's MVP

Senior midfielder Dani McCawley was named the most valuable player in the North Central Conference, heading a list of four first-team and one second-team selection on the all-league team released today.
McCawley's pick gives the Mavericks the league MVP three straight years. Beth McGill earned the honor in both 2005and 2006.
The other first-team selections were senior forward Brandie Beale, junior forward Casey Bigsby and junior midfielder Tara Wegehaupt. McCawley and Wegehaupt are both two-time first-team picks.
Sophomore defender Jessica Powers was named to the second team.
The Mavericks will take on Truman State Friday at 1 p.m. at Winona, Minn., in the first round of the NCAA Division II Central Regional tournament. A victory would pit them against host Winona State on Sunday afternoon at 1.
Bigsby Earns All-Region Spot
Casey Bigsby earned first-team honors and Brandie Beale and Mykala Hanson each were named to the second team of the Daktronics NCAA II Central Region soccer team released this week.
