Senior guard Zac Robinson stands poised to reach two milestones Saturday, when the University of Nebraska-Omaha men's team tries to win its first road North Central Conference game in its only action this week, as the Mavericks face South Dakota Saturday night at the DakotaDome.
Robinson needs just three 3-pointers to surpass Mike Simons' all-time record of 230 career 3's. He can also become the 28th member of the school's 1,000-point club with 16 points. The Omaha native is currently averaging 17.3 points per game, third-best in the NCC, and 3.8 3-pointers per game, ranking seventh in the nation.
South Dakota lost its first conference game of the year last week, falling to No. 5 Minnesota State, 91-87, in overtime. The Coyotes had won 11 in a row prior. Their record currently stands at 15-5, 4-1 in NCC.
The Coyotes and Mavericks have split the season series every year since the 2000-01 season, but South Dakota has won 12 of the last 14 meetings with UNO in Vermillion. USD holds a 48-41 lead in the all-time series.
