Wolfe Leads Mavs in Opening Tourney

WINTER SPRINGS, Fla. -- Sara Wolfe carded a 163 and Lindsay Newton a 164 Monday to lead the Mavericks in the opening rounds of the 32nd Annual Peggy Kirk Bell Invitational at Tescawilla Country Club, the first spring tournament test for UNO.
The 54-hole tournament will conclude with an 18-hole round beginning at 7:15 a.m. CDT Tuesday.
Wolfe shot an 84 in the morning round and came back with a 79, while Newton shot 86-78.
The Mavericks are in 12th place in the 13-team event. Defending national champion Rollins leads with a 298-310--608 total. UNO shot 347-328--675. Maria Garcia-Austt of Nova Southeastern leads the individual race after shooting a 68-74--142.
