Mavericks Host Northwest Missouri State Friday

The Mavericks face another one-match weekend, hosting Northwest Missouri State of the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Association. Match time on Friday, March 16, is at 6:30 p.m. at the Hanscom Park Indoor Tennis Center.

UNO ran its winning streak to six with an 8-1 triumph over North Central Conference rival Minnesota State, Mankato in its only match last week. The Mavericks will bring a 7-1 dual mark into this weekend's match with Northwest Missouri State.
Rachel Faulk lost her first singles match of the season against MSU, but teamed with Maggie Russell for a doubles win...The Mavs are unbeaten in NCC doubles this year...Three Mavs, Kylie Roe, Russell and Faulk each have just one loss this year in singles.
The Coaches
Bill Nichols is in his seventh season as head coach. The 1980 Wichita State graduate has led UNO to two straight NCC titles and four trips to the NCAA II tournament and a 78-36 record. Nichols is the only head coach the Mavericks have had since starting the program in 2001. Prior to coming to UNO, Nichols guided the Wichita State men's team for 12 years, winning five Missouri Valley Conference titles.
Former Maverick player Sarah Huls is in her second season as a graduate assistant coach. Huls is the career leader in singles and doubles victories.
Coming Up
The Mavericks will host Rockhurst on Saturday, March 24 at Hanscom Park, then will travel to Des Moines, Iowa, to challenge Drake on Sunday afternoon, March 25.
