UNO Lead Holds as 2nd Round is Canceled

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- The Mavericks earned their second straight tournament title when the second round of the Augustana Spring Invitational was canceled Saturday. Junior Sara Wolfe shot a 75 Friday to tie for second and lead the Mavericks into the first-round lead at the Prairie Green Golf Course.
UNO had a 308 for a three shot lead over Upper Iowa heading into Saturday's finale. Two groups teed off before play was halted for the day.
Lindsay Newton and Kate O'Dea each carded a 77 to tie for ninth place and Errin Ommen a 79 Friday for the Mavericks. Lynn Mulligan added an 80. Rachael Mooberry, with a 79, and Amy Powell, with an 80, competed individually.
Upper Iowa's Laura Taylor had the individual lead in the tournament with a 73.
UNO won the Missouri Western Invitational on March 25-26 in its last outing. The Mavericks are next in action April 15-16 when they host the Ironwood Collegiate Classic at the Ironwood Country Club in Omaha.
