Sep 28, 2007 | Women's Soccer
The Mavericks will resume their five-match homestand this weekend when they host North Central Conference foes St. Cloud State on Saturday and Minnesota State, Mankato on Sunday. Both games begin at 1 p.m. at the UNO Soccer Field, 68th and Spring Streets.
UNO heads into Saturday's match against the Huskies at 2-1 in the NCC and 3-4 on the season after last week's win at home over North Dakota.
St. Cloud State is 3-3-1 on the year and 1-1 in the league. NCC leader Minnesota State, which plays Saturday at South Dakota, brings records of 7-2 and 2-0 into the weekend. While it's the first of two meetings this season with St. Cloud State, UNO will be trying to avenge an earlier loss to MSU. The Mavericks lost a 3-0 decision at Mankato on Sept. 16.
Dani McCawley continues to lead the Mavericks in scoring with four goals, while Casey Bigsby and Mykala Hansen each have scored three times this season.
Notes:
Coach Don Klosterman has a 146-31-6 career mark in nine seasons at UNO and is 10-0 vs. St. Cloud State and 14-2-1 vs. Minnesota State...UNO has shut out St. Cloud State three straight times...UNO's homestand continues next week when the Mavericks host defending national champion Metro State Friday, Oct. 5, and NCC rival South Dakota on Sunday, Oct. 7. The Mavericks haven't met Metro State since losing 2-0 to the Roadrunners in the 2004 national semifinal match
