Truman State Edges UNO, 2-1

KIRKSVILLE, Mo. -- Truman State came from behind with goals eight minutes apart in the second half Saturday, handing the Mavericks a 2-1n on-conference loss. The setback drops UNO to 1-3 on the season.
Senior forward Brandie Beale put the Mavericks on the board in the 14th minute with her first goal of the year on a penalty kick.
The Bulldogs (3-2) tied the game at 56:07 on a goal by Katie Reuck. Truman State took the lead at 64:30 when Isabel Gaeta tipped the ball past UNO goalkeeper Ellen Petersen.
UNO outshot the Bulldogs 14-9 for the game, but Truman, held without a shot in the first 45 minutes, held a 9-7 advantage the second half and put four of them on goal. Truman State keeper Emily Roark made all four of her saves the second half.
UNO is next in action Sept. 15 when it opens North Central Conference play at Minnesota Duluth.
