Mavericks Cruise to a 93-50 Win Over Doane

OMAHA, Neb. – The University of Nebraska at Omaha men's basketball used a balanced attack to cruise to a 93-50 win over Doane College Saturday evening at the Sapp Fieldhouse.
#Jeff Martin# scored a game-high 18 points off the bench, while #Michael Jenkins# added 11 points and tied a career-high with seven assists to lead the Maverick offense.
Other Mavericks who scored in double figures included #Mitch Albers# with 16 points, #Justin Petersen added 13 while Aaron Terry and Dion Curry# each tallied 11 points. Curry also pulled down a team-high seven rebounds.
Utilizing a full-court press from the start, the Mavericks(1-0) were able to race out to an early 15-6 lead. The Tigers (4-3) answered UNO's quick start, and cut the lead to 19-12, but that's the closest Doane would get, as UNO finished the half on a 30-13 run to take a 49-25 lead into halftime, on 58.1 percent shooting.
UNO's hot shooting continued in the second half, as they shot over 48 percent and converted six three-pointers, never allowing Doane to make a second half comeback.
The Mavericks held a slight advantage in rebounds, edging the Tigers by a margin of 34-32.
The Tigers were led by Scott Neuhalfen who scored 17 points on 6-of-9 shooting and made all three of his three-point attempts.
The Mavericks return to the hardwood on Monday, Nov. 17 when they face intrastate rival, Nebraska-Kearney at 8 p.m. in Kearney, Neb.
