LEXINGTON, Ky. -- Junior middle blocker Ellen Thommes earned honorable mention honors on the AVCA Division II South Central Region team announced today.
Thommes, a two-time MIAA Hitter of the Week in 2008, led the Mavericks with a .352 hitting percentage, 1.19 blocks per set and 439.0 points. She was second on the team with 3.04 kills per set.
Thommes helped Nebraska-Omaha advance to its fifth-straight NCAA Division II Tournament, finishing the year with a 16-16 overall record and a 12-8 mark in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association.
In the final conference-only statistics, Thommes ranked first in blocks (1.30 bps), third in hitting percentage (.353), and fifth in points (3.86 pps).
