
Mavericks Conclude Regular Season at Home

The University of Nebraska at Omaha soccer team will conclude their regular season this week when they play host to Southwest Baptist on Thursday Nov. 6 at 3 p.m. and Central Missouri on Saturday, Nov. 8 at 1 p.m.
Last Week
UNO (11-5-0, 9-5-0 MIAA) defeated Missouri Southern 2-0 in Joplin, Mo. in their only match last week. Seniors #Amanda Iwansky and MaryClaire Murnan# each scored a goal to lead the Maverick offense, while goalkeepers #Elizabeth Odorisio and Lauren Fox# anchored the Maverick defense, posting UNO's ninth shutout of the year.
Scouting Southwest Baptist
Southwest Baptist (9-4-3, 6-4-2 MIAA) defeated Missouri Western 3-0 last week to begin their three-game road trip to finish the regular season.
The Bearcats are first in the MIAA in scoring, averaging 2.38 goals per game. Leading the potent offense are a pair freshmen who lead the conference with 15 goals apiece. Nicola Cousins has 10 assists to go along with her 15 goals, while Rhiane Mitchell has chipped in five assists with 15 goals.
Goalkeeper Johanna Olsson owns a 0.81 goals against average with 54 saves and five shutouts.
Scouting Central Missouri
Central Missouri (15-1-2, 13-0-1 MIAA) enters the week ranked No. 6 in this week's NSCAA/adidas poll. The MIAA champions played to a 2-2 tie with Truman State last week for their only winless match of the season in conference play.
Central Missouri is lead offensively by Melanie Hall who is third in the MIAA with 13 goals. In goal, Lauren Bamvakais has recorded 12 shutouts and a has a 0.43 goals against average, anchoring the Jennies' defense.
Senior Day
UNO will honor its four seniors in Saturday's match with Central Missouri. Over the past four seasons, these four players have helped lead the Mavericks to a 64-14-3 overall record, two conference titles and the 2005 NCAA II National Title.

The Series
UNO is 3-0-1 all-time against Southwest Baptist, including a 1-0 win earlier this year in Bolivar. The Mavericks are 8-0-1 all-time against the Jennies, with their only loss coming in a 3-1 setback earlier this year in Warrensburg, UNO's first lost of the 2008 season.
Head Coach
Head coach Don Klosterman has compiled a 168-38-7 overall record as the only soccer coach in UNO history. Under his direction, UNO has advanced to at least the NCAA Quarterfinals in six straight seasons, including the 2005 National Championship. Klosterman also has been named the National Coach of the Year twice (2002, 2005).
