Mavs Gather Largest Recruiting Class

Thirteen high school standouts have signed National Letters of Intent to attend the University of Nebraska at Omaha and play soccer next fall for the Mavericks, coach Don Klosterman said today. The class, made up of 11 from Nebraska, is the largest ever for the Mavericks and Klosterman.
“We went after the best players and we got lucky, I guess,” he said. “You never know when you'll have the opportunity to recruit this many outstanding players in one year. I know that they will all be able to make an impact.”
The Mavericks were 14-6-1 in the ninth year of the program last fall and advanced to the national quarterfinals. UNO will lose seven seniors from that team, the most of any season.
Seven of the recruits are from Omaha-area schools. The other Nebraskans are from Bellevue, Hastings, North Platte and Kearney. The out-of-state recruits are from Sioux Falls, S.D. and Atchison, Kan.
