PITTSBURG, Kan. -- The University of Nebraska at Omaha hit just .030, committing 22 hitting errors, as 16th-ranked Pittsburg State swept the Mavericks 3-0 (25-15, 25-18, 25-20) in MIAA volleyball action Friday night in front of 685 fans at John Lance Arena.
With the loss, the Mavericks fell to 5-7 overall and 1-1 in the MIAA. The Gorillas improved to 11-2 and 1-1.
Sophomore outside hitter #Kayla Uhing# led the Mavericks with seven kills and two digs.
Junior middle blocker #Ellen Thommes# added six kills and a match-high five blocks as UNO managed an 8-3 advantage in total team blocks.
UNO was also plagued by seven service errors, compared to just two service aces.
Freshman #Emily Myers# (11 assists) and sophomore #Jamie Tooley# split setting duties with Tooley recording a team-high 12 digs to go along with eight assists.
The Mavericks will continue MIAA action on Saturday when they travel to Bolivar, Mo. to take on Southwest Baptist at 2 p.m.
