WARRENSBURG, Mo. - The University of Central Missouri used hot shooting in the second half to pull away from the UNO men's basketball team, 85-72, on Saturday afternoon. The loss drops the Mavericks to 10-4 overall and 4-3 in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association.

The Mules led 37-34 at the half and shot better than 60 percent in the second stanza to pull away down the stretch.

The Mavericks were without their rebounding leader, #Justin Petersen#, who was injured in Wednesday's game against Truman State. Central Missouri held a 37-29 edge in rebounding in the game.

Junior #Dion Curry# led the Mavericks with a career-high 22 points. #Michael Jenkins# added 20 points, and #Mitch Albers# had 13 Joe Young and De'Andre Byrd each had 19 points to lead the Mules. Sanijay Watts chipped in 17.

The Mavericks return home for two games next week. They'll tip off with number two-ranked Southwest Baptist on Wednesday, Jan. 14 at 7:30 p.m. at Sapp Fieldhouse.
