HOUSTON, Texas - The UNO swimming and diving team found the pool fast and the competition fierce in the second full day of action at the Division II swimming and diving championships at the University of Houston. The Mavericks have a school-record 14 qualifiers participating in the meet.
In finals action on Thursday night, senior #Lindsey Kline# finished in fourth place in the consolation final of the 200 yard freestyle. Kline finished in a time of 1:52.47, just a fraction off her qualifying time of 1:52.13.
UNO's 400-yard medley relay team also took fourth place in the consolation final. The team of #Kristy Gmeiner#, #Laura Kemp#, #Jessica LaFave and Cait Hopkins# swam a time of 3:51.35, a full second faster than their morning qualifying time.
The Mavericks are tied for 20th place in the team standings with 14 points.
The meet continues Friday morning, beginning with the 500 yard freestyle prelims at 10 a.m. featuring freshman #Amy Bechdolt and junior Tessa Edwards#.
