League Coaches Pick Mavericks Fourth

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Mavericks were picked to finish tied for fourth in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association preseason coaches poll, released Wednesday.
Nebraska-Omaha tied with Truman with 69 points in the voting while third-picked Central Missouri earned 79 points. The Mavericks earned one first-place vote while defending champion Emporia State earned five and was picked first. Washburn also earned five first-place votes and was picked second.
The Mavericks went 16-16 overall last year and finished sixth in their first year in the MIAA with a 12-8 record. They begin the 2009 season August 28 and 29 at home with four matches in the UNO Volleyball Showcase.
