OMavs: Why did you choose to come to UNO?
JP: I chose to come to UNO because of the excellent soccer program. I also came to UNO because it was very close to my hometown (Bellevue). So I knew I could still be very involved in my younger brother's life who is just starting high school.
OMavs: What is your pre-game routine?
JP: I don't really have a pre-game routine. I basically just get myself prepared mentally and physically before every game. I also say a prayer before every game that God would protect the players on both teams and that I would play for him and no one else.
OMavs: What do you do in your free time?
JP: I enjoy reading, watching movies, hanging out with my friends, and I also enjoy rock climbing.
OMavs: Who's your favorite professional athlete?
JP: My favorite professional athlete is Joba Chamberlain because he plays with so much passion on the mound and you can tell he gives it his all every time he goes out there. Also, he is on the Yankees which is my favorite team and he is from Nebraska which makes it even better.
OMavs: What is your favorite food?
JP: Crab legs. Because even though it is a lot of work to get the meat, it is definitely worth it because they are so good and I can eat almost 4 pounds of them.
OMavs: If you weren't playing soccer what would you be doing?
JP: I would definitely be doing intramurals. I would also probably be involved with Crossfit or some other strength and conditioning program.
OMavs: Where is your favorite place to eat?
JP: Any Chinese Buffet because I love Chinese food and they usually have crab legs at their buffets.
OMavs: What is your favorite sport other than soccer?
JP: Rock climbing because it is so different from soccer in every aspect. It is an individual sport, it is a little risky and it is a lot of fun.
OMavs: Where would you go for your dream vacation?
JP: My dream vacation would be to go to Ireland. It is where my ancestors came from and it is a beautiful place.
OMavs: How has playing sports helped improve your college experience?
JP: Playing sports has improved my college experience by giving me 20 close friends who would do anything for me. It has also helped me to learn time management skills that I will need when I finally graduate and get a real job. It has just been a ton of fun playing soccer in college.
