Mavericks Finish Fall With Top 10 Ranking

OMAHA, Neb. - The UNO golf team concluded the fall portion of its season ranked eighth in the NCAA Division II West Region. UNO's average team score was 313.67 which also ranked 16th among all Division II teams.
The Mavericks won four tournaments during the fall and finished 2-2 against teams ranked in the top 10 regionally. Their record against regional opponents was 29-3.
UNO also placed two players in the top 30 in scoring in the region. #Dani Suponchick#, who posted an average score of 77.1 through five tournaments to lead the Mavs in scoring, ranked 23rd while #Ricca Soper# averaged 77.83 over six tournaments and placed 30th. Suponchick's average score is also good for a national ranking of 48th among all Division II players.
Following Suponchick and Soper, #Armana Christianson# ranked third in team scoring in the fall with an average of 77.9. #Rebecca Pollock# was fourth at 80.1, and #Amy Powell# was fifth at 81.9. All three players also appeared in five tournaments.
The Mavericks will resume play with the spring half of their season in March. They are the two-time defending Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association champions.
