UNO Women Will Face Truman in Tournament

2010 MIAA Women's Tennis Championship Tournament
Much like the Maverick men, the UNO women's tennis team will take on Truman State in the 2010 Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Association Women's Tennis Championship Tournament as the No. 5 overall seed. The eight team tournament is set to begin Saturday, when the Mavs will take to the court at 9:30 a.m.
Should the Mavs win, they will face the winner of the Northwest Missouri State vs. Missouri Western match. However, the times for all semifinals are yet to be determined. If the Mavericks make their way to the tournament final, they will play at 12 p.m. on Sunday, with the third place match slated to start at the same time.
The consolation fifth place match is scheduled for Sunday at 12 p.m., with seventh place up for grabs earlier that morning at 9 a.m.
In the Mavericks' first match against TSU, the Bulldogs narrowly edged the Mavs, 5-4. Sophomore #Mary Lausten# was the star of the day as she won in both No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles. The Mavericks won the doubles competition, but it was not enough as they were defeated.
