KIRKSVILLE, Mo. -- The UNO women's basketball team fell victim to a 27-9 run in the first half and couldn't recover, as Truman defeated the Mavericks 66-47 at Pershing Arena on Saturday.
The loss was the sixth straight for Nebraska-Omaha and dropped it to 6-16 overall and 3-15 in the MIAA. Truman improved to 11-10 overall and 9-8 in the MIAA with its third straight win.
#Jamie Nash led the Mavs with 13 points and five rebounds. Paige Frauendorfer# chipped in 11 points.
With the score tied 10-10 at the 15:22 mark, the Bulldogs took control with a 27-9 run over the next 11:48. The Mavs went in to the break down 39-24.
Truman led by as many as 21 late in the second half, as UNO was unable to get any closer than 12 points in the second half.
The Mavs hit 14-of-55 from the field for a season-low 25.5 percent, including 0-for-9 from 3-point range. The last time the Mavs failed to hit a 3-pointer in a game was Dec. 2, 2009, when they went 0-for-12 against Washburn.
Jennifer Conway led all scorers with 17 points, while adding a game-high 14 rebounds. Breanna Daniels contributed 12 points for the Bulldogs.
UNO plays its second-to-last home game of the season next Wednesday, Feb. 16, at 5:30 p.m vs. Central Missouri.
