Maverick Women Cruise Past Nebraska Wesleyan, 9-0

OMAHA, Neb. -- The UNO women's tennis team won all three doubles matches and all six singles matches, cruising to a 9-0 season-opening win over Nebraska Wesleyan at Hanscom Park Tennis Center on Friday night.

Juniors #Traci Moklestad and Kelsie Olson# defeated Andrea Dasilva and Vanessa Johnson, 8-2, followed by junior #Heather Hottman and freshman Jessica Hottman grabbing an 8-3 victory. Junior Caitlin Christy and sophomore Amanda Henkel# finished off the doubles competition with a win over Terah Maloley and Hannah Husman, 8-4.

In singles action, Moklestad won at the No. 1 spot in straight sets (6-0, 6-3) over Dickmeyer. In No. 2 singles, Olson defeated Maloley 6-0, 6-3, while Heather Hottman earned a 6-0, 6-4 win against Dasilva. No. 4 Jessica Hottman breezed past Johnson with scores of 6-2 and 6-0, and Christy topped Husman, 6-2, 7-6. Junior #Diana Dobey# finished off the match with a 7-6, 6-3 win over Nicole Jacobson.

The Mavericks return to action Feb. 11-12, traveling to the Gustavus Adolphus Invitational in St. Peter, Minn.
