Three Mavericks Named to All-MIAA Teams

OMAHA, Neb. – Three UNO men's basketball players – Tyler Bullock, Torrian Harris and Mitch Albers -- were honored with MIAA postseason accolades, the league office announced Tuesday. Bullock and Albers were both named All-MIAA, while Harris earned a spot on the MIAA all-defensive team.
Bullock, a senior guard from Lincoln, garnered his second straight first-team all-conference nod. He started all 26 regular-season games, averaging 19.0 points, 3.9 rebounds 4.8 assists and 1.6 steals per game, while shooting 48.9 percent from the field. Through games of Feb. 27, Bullock ranks 50th in the nation in scoring and 54th in assists, and he is in the top 10 in the MIAA in scoring, assists, steals, field goal percentage and free throw percentage.
Albers, who earned All-MIAA honorable mention recognition in 2008-09, was the Mavericks' one-two punch with Bullock this season. Albers, a junior guard from Papillion, averaged 17.4 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game while shooting 44.9 percent from the floor and 86.8 from the charity stripe. He leads the MIAA in free throw percentage and also ranks in the conference top 10 in scoring and shooting percentage. In addition, Albers is the 35th-ranked free throw shooter in the country and is 95th in points per game.
Harris, a guard from Saginaw, Mich., started all 26 regular-season games in his senior season. He averaged 11.5 points, 7.4 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 0.8 steals and 0.7 blocks per contest and shot 52.6 from the floor. Harris has achieved a team-leading six double-doubles and ranks fourth in the MIAA in rebounding. He is the first Maverick in school history to earn a spot on the MIAA's all-defensive team.
Fourth-seeded UNO returns to action on Thursday, March 3, facing No. 5 seed Central Missouri at the 2011 MIAA Tournament. Tipoff is set for 2:15 p.m. at Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City, Mo.
