Slocum Named MIAA Pitcher of the Week

OMAHA, Neb. - UNO standout softball pitcher Lindsey Slocum was named MIAA Pitcher of the Week on Tuesday by a conference SID panel, following her complete-game shutout win over Lincoln on Saturday.
The award marked the first pitching honor of the year for the returning All-American. Slocum was named MIAA Hitter of the Week on March 18.
Slocum struck out 11 and walked one in a complete-game shutout win over Lincoln on Saturday in Jefferson City, Mo. The All-American allowed just two hits in the Mavericks' 1-0 win and limited Lincoln batters to a .095 batting average in the second game of the doubleheader.
Slocum is 10-3 on the season with three saves and a 1.70 ERA. At the plate, she is batting .287 with seven home runs, 10 doubles and 32 RBIs.
The Mavericks face Washburn in a doubleheader on Wednesday at 2 p.m., in Topeka, Kan.
