Grosey Named Defensive Player of the Week

OMAHA, Neb. - Junior goalkeeper Matt Grosey was named Summit League Defensive Player of the Week on Monday after shutting out IUPUI 2-0 on Saturday for the Mavs' first league win this season.
Grosey made two big saves and stoned The Summit League's leading scorer, Kyle Hyland, on a penalty kick in the 74th minute to preserve the two-goal lead and shutout for UNO. The San Mateo, Calif., native has given up just two goals in his last 320 minutes in net. His .727 save percentage ranks third in the conference.
Grosey is the first Maverick to win the conference's defensive award this season, as Devin Diego and Giovanni Giattino have won offensive awards already this year. All three are first-year players for the Mavericks.
Omaha plays at SIU Edwardsville on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
