SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The Omaha women's golf team got two more steady rounds from senior Elizabeth Havekost and freshman Katie Kesti, helping the Mavericks take sixth at the Jackrabbit Fall Invitational hosted by South Dakota State.
The Mavs finished with a 54-hole team total of 981. Fellow Summit League team North Dakota State won with a team total of 933, followed by Northern Iowa (951) and Augustana (953).
Havekost led the Mavericks in scoring with a three round total of 243 after shooting 80 on Tuesday. She finished in a tie for 15th overall. Kesti closed with an 81 to tie with Sophie Peters for second in team scoring and 17th overall at 244. Peters had UNO's best round of the tournament on Tuesday with a 78.
Brooke Thilges shot 88 in round three for a three-round total of 255, good for 33rd overall. Melyssa Doerr rounded out the scoring for the Mavs with an 83 on Tuesday for a total score of 262, putting her in a tie for 39th.
The Mavericks are off until Oct. 15 when they travel to Missouri State for the Payne Stewart Memorial.
